How to care for your Lex & Luna products

To get the best out of your Lex & Luna products creating a good wash routine is key.
Please see our recommended care instructions below.

Prior to first use

Give your items a quick wash before their first use. We recommend you do this to remove any manufacture residue that may have been left behind.

After use

Remove any solids that may have been left and place into your dry pail.
We recommend to rinse night nappies in hot water before adding them to the dry pail.
We recommend a plastic basket with holes to allow sufficient airflow.
We DO NOT recommend soaking used nappies or any of our products!

Washing

Using a good quality mainstream detergent prewash your nappies every 1-2 days. This should be a 30-60minutes wash.

Following the prewash you can either put the nappies back into the dry pail for up to 4 days (we strongly recommend only 2 days) or you can add in some baby/toddler clothes or tea towels to bulk out the machine to achieve correct loading.

The main wash should be your longest cycle your machine can do, ideally a 2-3hrs cycle at 40-60°C

All washes should be completed using a good quality mainstream detergent, a lot of eco-friendly detergent aren’t sufficient when cleaning soiled nappies.

Do not using fabric softener or bleach on any Lex & Luna products, it can damage the fabrics and reduce the lifespan of the products.

Drying

To help expand the life of your items we recommend avoiding hanging them in direct sunlight.
Inserts can be placed in the dryer on medium heat or air dried. We do not recommend putting any of our products with PUL or elastic in the dryer, these should be air dried.
